Rex is een einzelgänger en wanneer hem verteld wordt dat hij niet lang meer te leven heeft begint hij aan een autorit door de Australische binnenlanden. Door van Broken Hill naar Darwin af te reizen brengt hij de laatste periode van zijn leven door op zijn eigen manier. Maar hij komt er al gauw achter dat je moet leven om te kunnen sterven en om het leven te leven moet je het delen.
Nee, helaas is Last Cab to Darwin nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
