Op zijn reis door Frankrijk en Italië documenteert een regisseur verschillende relatie-episodes. In Ferrara verlaat een man de vrouw van zijn dromen nadat hij haar voor het eerst in vele jaren heeft ontmoet, uit angst dat de realiteit zijn emoties niet zal kunnen bijhouden. In Portofino ontmoet de regisseur een vrouw die hij negeert nadat ze hem heeft verteld dat ze haar vader heeft vermoord. Patricia en Carlo komen dichter bij elkaar wanneer Patricia een nieuw appartement bezoekt. Ze wil weg bij haar man, die haar bedriegt. En tot slot over de jonge Niccolo uit Aix-en-Provence, die het aandurft om een meisje aarzelend te benaderen en moet vernemen dat ze de volgende dag naar het klooster zal gaan.
