Een aantal inwoners van New York pleegt elk een moord, blijkbaar zonder duidelijk motief. Er duiken echter meer en meer moordenaars op en al gauw ontdekt de politie een patroon: de meeste moordenaars beweren dat hun daden werden opgedragen door God.
