Anna is een Amerikaanse journaliste die besluit een artikel te wijden aan de moord op een Iraakse leider voor wie ze bewondering had. Op hetzelfde moment breekt ze een relatie af met Dan, die werkzaam is bij de CIA, en zoekt ze toenadering tot Zaid, een jonge Iraakse fotograaf.
