Perth en Tan zijn op school niet enkel beste vrienden, maar ook elkaars concurrenten in het zwemmen. Ondanks verwoede pogingen kan Perth niet aan het talent van Tan tippen. Tan heeft een vriendin, Ice, die ook een oogje op Perth heeft. Perth en Ice spreken stiekem in het zwembad af en Ice komt tot de ontdekking dat ze zwanger is en ze besluit een einde aan haar leven te maken.
