Enkele dagen voor zijn huwelijk krijgt Jason Kelly de taak zijn grootvader Dick, een voormalige generaal van het leger, naar een gemeenschap voor gepensioneerden te brengen. Dick vindt dat zijn kleinzoon gaat trouwen met een ongeschikte vrouw. Gedurende hun reis raken de twee in allerlei problemen tijdens bezoeken aan kroegen en studentenfeesten.
