Prinses Lian en haar jongere broer Zhao slaan op de vlucht wanneer hun vader, de keizer, wordt vermoord door zijn ambitieuze oudste zoon Shing. Achtervolgt door Shing's bewakers, vinden ze bescherming bij Arken, een geharde ridder die op zoek is naar zijn vroegere vriend en mentor, Gallain, die nu een beruchte bandiet is. Tijdens de barre tocht ontstaat er een onwaarschijnlijke romance tussen de verfijnde prinses en de norse krijger.
