De verlegen Katie werkt voor de lokale krant. De schrijver die verantwoordelijk is voor de columns gaat met pensioen. Katie krijgt de opdracht het werk over te nemen en is verheugt dat zij mensen mag helpen. Op een dag krijgt ze een brief van een weduwnaar die de dood van zijn vrouw niet kan werken. Katie en de man houden contact met elkaar en worden verliefd.
