In het 19e-eeuwse Cajun-land in Louisiana is Belizaire de informele woordvoerder van zijn burgers, die het niet eens zijn met lokale racisten die alle Cajuns willen uitroeien. Complicerende zaken zijn dat de voormalige vlam van Belizaire nu getrouwd is met zijn grootste rivaal, de zoon van een rijke landeigenaar. Voordat hij het weet, raakt Belizaire verstrikt in een web van moord, leugens en vooroordelen.
Nee, helaas is Belizaire the Cajun nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
