De 11-jarige Lisa heeft geen tijd voor speelgoed; ze heeft het te druk met het zorgen voor haar broers en zussen en het koken voor haar moeder. Tijdens de sneeuwstorm op kerstavond reist Lisa op Wizard of Oz-achtige wijze naar Toyland en arriveert net op tijd voor een bruiloft. De jonge Mary Contrary staat op het punt te trouwen met de gemene, oude Barnaby Barnacle, ondanks het feit dat ze van Jack Be Nimble houdt. Lisa probeert deze vreselijke bruiloft te stoppen en ontdekt samen met haar nieuwe vrienden dat Barnaby Toyland wil overnemen. Lisa, Mary, Jack en Georgie Porgie vragen de Toymaster om hulp, maar hij kan ze niet helpen zolang Lisa niet echt in speelgoed gelooft.
