Het is 1855 en een vrouwelijke pionier besluit samen met een man op te trekken om een wagen met een aantal vrouwen van Nebraska naar Iowa te leiden. De meereizende vrouwen zijn gek geworden van de gruwelheden die ze aan de bijna onbewoonde grens hebben moeten doorstaan en moeten daarom zo snel mogelijk terug naar de bewoonde wereld, richting het oosten. Ze blijken echter niet zomaar meteen van alle ellende te zijn verlost.
Nee, helaas is The Homesman nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
