Plot

De advocatuur trilt op haar grondvesten wanneer de jonge advocaat Robin Weathers zijn eerste zaak ter hand neemt. Hij schuwt geen enkele tactiek om zijn klanten vrij te pleiten en trekt dan ook volop de aandacht van de media. Darren, Nancy en Alan van het prestigieuze advocatenkantoor in Boston waar Robin zijn loopbaan begint, hebben veel te stellen met hun nieuwe collega, die door dik en dun wordt gesteund door zijn vriendin Jo Ann. Uiteindelijk wordt ook Robin geconfronteerd met het aloude advocatendilemma: Moet hij een klant verdedigen die tegen hem liegt?
