Philip (Steve Martin) werkt met volledige toewijding bij de Lifesavers-hotline. Deze hotline probeert mensen die op het punt staan zelfmoord te plegen, hiervan te weerhouden. Met Philip zelf gaat het eigenlijk ook niet zo goed want hij is gedumpt door zijn vriendin. Als hij dan ook nog eens hoort dat de hotline zijn kantoor dreigt kwijt te raken is het helemaal mis. Bovendien is het kerstavond en brengt hij die door met een travestiet, een suïcidale kerstman, een seriemoordenaar en een gestoorde zwangere vrouw! Gelukkig Kerstmis!
Nee, helaas is Lifesavers nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
