In 1650, toen New York nog Nieuw Amsterdam heette, arriveert aldaar Peter Stuyvesant (Charles Coburn) om zijn plichten als gouverneur te vervullen. Stuyvesant heeft als prioriteit om Brom Broeck (Nelson Eddy) uit de weg te ruimen. Broeck is namelijk een gevierde journalist die allerlei corruptiezaken binnen de politie en het gouvernement aan het licht brengt. Omdat Broeck echter nog niet wettelijk buiten zijn boekje is gegaan, zal Stuyvesant moeten wachten op gegronde reden, en hij is niet te beroerd om het lot een handje te helpen.
Nee, helaas is Knickerbocker Holiday nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
