In real time volgen we de handelingen van enkele personen vlak na deze onbegrijpelijke gebeurtenis die hun levens en de wereld voorgoed zouden veranderen: de jonge artsen en verpleegsters van het Parkland Hospital, de baas van de Dallas Secret Service, de onwetende cameraman die de meest bekeken en onderzochte beelden in de geschiedenis heeft geschoten, de FBI-agenten die schutter Lee Harvey Oswald grijpen en vice-president Johnson die de controle over het land moest nemen.
