Het moderne stel Jai en Meera woont in Londen. Ze zijn erg gelukkig maar willen elkaar niet claimen, dus als het leven hun wegen doet scheiden, leggen ze zich daarbij neer. De oudere Veer Singh snapt niet dat Jai zo harteloos kan omgaan met de liefde. En Jai kan niet begrijpen dat Veer Singh in zijn jeugd zo naïef was dat hij wel duizend kilometer heeft afgelegd om het mooie meisje Harleen achterna te reizen, terwijl hij haar nooit heeft aangesproken. De verhalen van Jai en Veer Singh maken duidelijk dat relaties van veertig jaar geleden verschillen met die van nu. De vrolijkheid en wanhoop van het moderne leven, tegenover het onschuldige en obsessieve van het verleden. Maar het gevoel van verliefdheid blijft altijd hetzelfde.
