Na haar zoveelste relationele tegenslag gaat Abby uithuilen bij haar homoseksuele, allerbeste vriend Robert. Hij vangt haar zo goed op dat ze in elkaars armen de nacht doorbrengen. Met alle gevolgen vandien, want na enige tijd blijkt Abby zwanger te zijn. Vastbesloten het kind te houden, regelen ze een soort van co-ouderschap, dat perfect blijkt te zijn. Maar op de dag dat Abby de liefdevolle Ben ontmoet en gaat beseffen dat er meer bestaat dan vriendschap alleen, beginnen de problemen.
