Op professioneel vlak blinkt de 45-jarige Tom Burns uit zoals nooit tevoren. Maar als zijn bedrijf wordt verkocht aan een opkomend reclamebureau, staat zijn functie zwaar ter discussie. De nieuwe jonge CEO denkt dat Tom te oud is voor het bedrijf. Tom blijft niet bij de pakken zitten en huurt een jonge kerel in, Dick, die de ideeën van Tom moet verdedigen. Alles verloopt vlotjes tot zowel Tom als Dick verliefd wordt op Harriet.
