Een vliegtuig met bestemming Japan moet met technische problemen een noodlanding maken in Siberië. Aan boord bevindt zich Nicolaï Rodchenko, een Russisch balletdanser die naar de Verenigde Staten is gevlucht. Rodchenko vernietigt zijn identiteitspapieren, maar hij is gewond aan het hoofd en wordt naar een ziekenhuis gebracht. Daar wordt hij herkend door Chaiko, een kolonel van de KGB.
