Courteneys tienerzoon, genaamd Dylan, wordt op school gepest door de gemene Sawyer. Sawyer steelt Dylans lunch en komt daar ongestraft mee weg. Dit totdat hij op een dag na het stelen van de lunch dood neervalt in de kantine. De politie ontdekt dat de lunch vergiftigd werd en vermoedt dat Dylan dit bewust gedaan heeft om Sawyer uit te schakelen. Courteney is echter overtuigd van Dylans onschuld en zet alles op alles om dit te aan te tonen.
