David is een kunstenaar en een pothead. Hij is verliefd geworden op de mooie en sexy Serena, en het gaat gewoon geweldig totdat het huis van de arme David afbrandt. Serena heeft de slechte vibes niet nodig, dus splitst ze de scène op en rent ze naar New York met rocker en junkie Tommy. Eenzame David wendt zich uiteindelijk tot de zoete, zoete troost van marihuana en zijn vreemde menagerie van vrienden om zijn verloren huis en liefde te vergeten
