Marcus' vader stierf aan een hersenziekte en hij zal er ook aan sterven, maar is te bang om het aan zijn broer te vertellen. Hij vreest ook dat zijn broer David de ziekte heeft en spreekt met zijn moeder af om hem op zijn sportschool te laten testen. Hij wil ook na jaren weer met hem op trekken en hem te trainen voor een zware wielerronde. Dit zal misschien de laatste keer dat ze samen met elkaar zullen optrekken.
