De kinderen van een ooit befaamde kunstenaar beramen samen een sluw plan. Ze schakelen een vrouwelijke vervalser in om diens onafgewerkte schilderijen, sinds lange tijd door hem opgegeven, te vervolledigen. Op deze manier kunnen ze zijn werken na diens dood verkopen en ontvangen ze toch iets van een erfenis.
