Een meisje uit een kleine stad dat in New York groot is geworden als fotomodel, keert terug naar huis en ontdekt dat haar ietwat onnozele oom zijn pension tot het uiterste heeft verhypothekeerd. In haar pogingen om hem te helpen zijn pension te behouden, raakt ze betrokken bij een knappe jonge predikant en zijn meerdere, een oudere bisschop.
