Lucy keert voor de zomerperiode naar het ouderlijk huis terug waar ze met haar vader Adam, zus Erin en hun chimpansee Ben herenigd wordt. Wanneer Adam in het kader van werk weggeroepen wordt, organiseert Lucy met enkele vrienden een poolparty. Een beet van een hondsdol dier maakt echter een einde aan het feest wanneer de zachtaardige en lieve Ben verandert in een woest beest.
