Mitchell is een knappe, blonde Californische knaap. Het strand, zijn rollerblades en de surfplank zijn z'n lust en z'n leven. Als zijn ouders hem naar Pittsburgh sturen, baalt hij. In Pittsburgh is geen strand, maar wel zijn maffe tante Irene en zijn neef Wiley, de outcast van zijn school. Op diezelfde school worden alle meiden smoorverliefd op Mitchell, hetgeen hem door de locale macho's niet in dank wordt afgenomen.Bij voorkeur slaan ze hem verrot! Alles wordt pas echt ingewikkeld als hij verliefd wordt op Nikki,de zus van ene Jack, die een pesthekel aan hem heeft. Een Rollerblade wedstrijd moet een einde aan alle vetes maken. Dat leidt tot een reeks spectaculaire, halsbrekende stunts. Een film van en voor deze tijd!
