In een klein Frans dorpje leiden Hélène, Michel en hun twee kinderen een gelukkig leven in de onbezorgde jaren 50. Plotseling worden ze naar 2024 gekatapulteerd, waar het echtpaar een moderne wereld ontdekt die haaks staat op de wereld die ze kennen. Voor Hélène, die altijd in de schaduw van haar man heeft geleefd, is het een revolutie. Maar voor Michel, die zijn mannelijke privileges in rook ziet opgaan, is het een ramp. Tussen nieuwe wind en de geur van weleer zal deze reis door de tijd niet gemakkelijk zijn.
