De arme manga-tekenaar Yoshio wordt door de huisbaas van zijn appartement opgeroepen om romanschrijver Imori te helpen verhuizen. Daar ontmoet hij de pas gescheiden vrouw Fukuko. Ondanks dat ze al een relatie met iemand anders heeft, is Yoshio betoverd door haar schoonheid. Ondertussen richt Imori een reclamebureau op, waarbij hij hulp krijgt van Yoshio. Uiteindelijk besluit het drietal samen te gaan wonen en beginnen ze een vreemd leven te leiden.
