De yup Daniel Miller komt om het leven tijdens een auto-ongeluk. Hij komt vervolgens terecht in 'Judgement City', een wachtkamer voor het hiernamaals. Aan het begin van de dag moet hij bewijzen dat hij zijn angsten heeft overwonnen, hetgeen hem niet al te gemakkelijk afgaat. Hij loopt Julia tegen het lijf, de enige andere jonge persoon, hij wordt verliefd op haar.
Nee, helaas is Defending Your Life nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
