De plot van de film ontvouwt zich gedurende 24 uur waarin alles gebeurt, inclusief een overval. Een Californische toerist, Sophie,ontmoet drie jonge mensen op het strand die beloven haar Siciliaanse hoofdstad te laten zien, maar ze hebben eigenlijk een schulden en betrekken het meisje erbij .
