Het gelukkige leven van Alice en George lijkt niet te verstoren. Een mooi huis, leuke vrienden, gezellige avonden en een hele toekomst voor zich. Als echter blijkt dat Alice ondanks al hun pogingen maar niet zwanger kan worden, zal een draagmoeder voor het nageslacht moeten zorgen. Wat zo simpel en makkelijk leek, loopt uit op een helse nachtmerrie. Dit soort jaloersheid is namelijk extreem dodelijk.
