Het verhaal speelt zich af in 2002. Kate Moss is op het hoogtepunt van haar succes als model en bevindt zich in een overgangsfase, terwijl ze zich voorbereidt op het moederschap. Ze begint aan een reis van zelfontdekking wanneer de beroemde kunstenaar Lucian Freud aanbiedt om haar portret te schilderen.
