Terwijl het land zware bosbranden achter de rug heeft, voegt de aspirant-documentairemaakster Bailey zich bij de natuurbeschermers Grace en Ben. Ze reizen naar het binnenland om de dieren in de nasleep van de branden op te sporen en vast te leggen. Wanneer de nacht valt, ontdekt het drietal een nieuwe soort die het niet goed met hen voor heeft.
