De wat egocentische arts Dr. Lee Johnson schrijft zich tijdens W.O.II in bij het leger. Al op de eerste dag krijgt hij te maken met de vurige zuster 'Snapshot' McCall, die hem zijn plaats wijst. Deze eerste ontmoeting mondt uit in een romance, maar Lee is al getrouwd en komt in gewetensnood betreffende zijn vrouw die thuis op hem wacht.
