Nadat Alice Johnson haar vorige aanvaring met het droommonster Freddy Krueger heeft overleefd, krijgt ze weer last van nachtmerries. Deze keer dwaalt Freddy door de dromen van Alice's ongeboren kind en besluit om op deze manier al Alice haar vrienden om zeep te helpen. Alice besluit, om het leven van haar vrienden én haar ongeboren kind te redden, opnieuw de confrontatie met Freddy aan te gaan.
