Op weg naar huis nadat hij zijn verdriet heeft weg gedronken nadat hij was afgewezen door zijn verliefdheid, vindt de 26-jarige salarisman Yoshida een middelbare schoolmeisje genaamd Sayu aan de kant van de weg en laat haar uiteindelijk een nacht bij hem logeren. Omdat ze het hart niet heeft om de wegloper op straat te zetten, staat Yoshida haar toe bij hem thuis te blijven... En zo begon de ongemakkelijke, prikkelbare en enigszins hartverwarmende relatie tussen een weggelopen middelbare scholiere en een samenwonende salarisman.
