Het verhaal over drie mannen die allesbehalve atletisch zijn en daarom vroeger bij het sporten nooit werden uitgenodigd om mee te doen. Uit frustratie over hun kinderjaren, richten ze samen een driekoppig honkbalteam op en nemen ze het op tegen scholierenteams op volle sterkte. Onverwachts blijkt hun initiatief zeer veel kinderen, die zich achtergesteld voelen omdat ze niet zo goed kunnen sporten, aan te spreken.
Nee, helaas is The Benchwarmers nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
