2038, dertien jaar na de grote robot-oorlog, betreedt een stel schatjagers een verboden zone op het eiland '8JO' om computer chips te stelen. Maar tijdens hun verblijf wordt de super computer Chiron5 (verantwoordelijk voor de oorlog) gereactiveerd. Om van het eiland te ontsnappen zetten ze de laatste GUNHED in, een legendarische gevechts-robot, om Chiron5 uit te schakelen.
