In de 10e eeuw heerst de Chola-dynastie over een groot gedeelte van India. Aditha Karikalan en Arulmozhi Varman, de twee zonen van de keizer, zijn beiden op verorveringstochten om de macht van hun familie te vergroten. Wanneer Karikalan lucht krijgt van een complot, draagt hij een vertrouweling uit een bevriende clan op om op onderzoek te gaan. Deze ontdekt vervolgens een samenzwering om de keizer van de troon te stoten, waarin een ex-geliefde van Karikalan een sleutelrol speelt.
