De jonge afgestudeerde studente Jane Chase wordt de nieuwe assistent van een excentrieke zoölogie professor in het afgelegen huis dat hij deelt met twee briljante chimpansees en een oudere orang-oetanbutler genaamd Link. Maar wanneer een van de chimpansees dood wordt aangetroffen en de professor op mysterieuze wijze verdwijnt, wordt Link gevaarlijk agressief tegenover Jane. Nu is de tijd van ‘apenzaken’ voorbij en staat de echte terreur op het punt te beginnen.
