Johnny Hawks, voorheen een indianen jager, keert terug naar het Westen na de burgeroorlog. Hij ontmoet de indianen groep onder leiding van Red Cloud weer naar jaren en als hij hoort dat er cowboys achter hun goud aanzitten, besluit hij ze te helpen.
