Preston is een man wiens vrouw en dochter plotseling om het leven komen bij een vreselijk auto-ongeluk. Hij trekt zich terug in de rouw, slaapt op zijn gazon, is depressief en laat zijn baard groeien. Maar dan verschijnt er een Ducati op zijn oprit van een anonieme aanbidster, en Preston rijdt de wegen van Californië op.
