Deze film vertelt het verhaal van de hoofdpersoon in omgekeerde volgorde, waarbij zelfs de dialogen achterstevoren zijn gesproken. Te beginnen bij zijn executie omdat hij zijn echtgenote heeft vermoord, gaat zijn levensverhaal terug tot aan het ogenblik dat hij geboren werd.
