Gescheiden van zijn familie en gevangen in een cyclus van gokken en schulden, heeft Jim minder dan een dag om een gewelddadige woekeraar terug te betalen. De relatie met zijn zoon, op wie hij moet letten aangezien hij op schoolvakantie is, wordt getest als zijn plannen om de lening terug te betalen op niets uitdraaien. Wanneer zijn laatste wanhopige poging om de schuld terug te betalen het leven van zijn zoon in gevaar brengt, staat hij voor een dilemma.
