Saul Indian Horse is een Ojibwe (een volk van inheemse Amerikanen), van de oevers van de Winnipeg-rivier. Als kind is hij gescheiden van zijn familie door het beruchte residentiële schoolsysteem van Canada, waar hij en andere inheemse studenten regelmatig fysiek, seksueel en emotioneel worden mishandeld. Leraren doen hun best om de identiteit van de kinderen te vernietigen, uit naam van de christelijke god en de Canadese staat. Dan ontdekt Saul ijshockey. Alleen door zijn passie voor het spel en zijn snel verbeterende vaardigheden ziet hij een weg voorbij de gruwelen die hem beperken.
Nee, helaas is Indian Horse nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
