Michael, een jonge advocaat in Berlijn, krijgt bezoek van zijn vader Stanislaw uit Polen. De twee zijn totale vreemden voor elkaar, maar gedurende het weekend dat Stanislaw zijn zoon bezoekt, ontwikkelt zich een vriendschap tussen de twee mannen. Na zijn vaders vertrek realiseert Michael zich dat de stad waar hij leeft, de enige plaats is waar hij thuis hoort.
