In "Baronesa" navigeren twee vrienden, Leid en Andreia, door een gevaarlijke dagelijkse sleur. Leid voedt kleine kinderen op terwijl haar man in de gevangenis zit. Andreia droomt ervan naar een veiliger buurt te verhuizen, Baronesa, terwijl ze haar brood verdient als schoonheidsspecialiste voor de armen. Juliana Antunes bracht samen met haar crew (allemaal vrouwen) vijf jaar door in de sloppenwijk van Belo Horizonte, vaak woonachtig en slapend in hetzelfde huis als de vrouwen die gefilmd werden.
Nee, helaas is Baronesa nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
