Angela Arden, is een voormalige zangeres die gevangen zit in een haatdragend huwelijk met filmproducent Sol Sussman. In een poging aan haar huwelijk te ontsnappen, zodat ze bij een knappe tussen stop kan zijn, vergiftigt ze haar man. Angela's manipulatieve dochter, homoseksuele zoon en alcoholische meid gaan het haar echter niet gemakkelijk maken.
