De laatste dagen van de Welshman dichter Dylan Thomas waren legendarisch. En vol mysterie. De film vertelt het verhaal van de dood van Thomas in New York na het drinken van 18 dubbele shots whisky in de beroemde White Horse Tavern. Die momenten worden vermengd met de ontwenningsverschijnselen van een geest vol alcohol en zijn bedwelmende poëzie.
