In oktober 1974 stopten de The Grateful Dead (tijdelijk) met concerten geven. Van 16 tot en met 20 oktober gaven ze 5 concerten die ze "The Last One" noemden. In The Grateful Dead Movie zien we hoe de bandleden en het publiek met die stop omgingen. Concertbeelden worden afgewisseld met interviews en een geanimeerde openingsscène die speciaal voor deze documentaire werd ontwikkeld door Gary Gutierrez.
Nee, helaas is The Grateful Dead Movie nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
